Ranger Pub Improvement Project
Regis' Belial Bar circa 1982
The objective of the 'Ranger Pub Improvement Project' is to provide a lounge space in the Ranger Grille that is open late at night, on weekends, and available to all students. The RUSGA Executive Cabinet will be adding booth seating, a pin ball machine, an arcade game, a hand shuffleboard table, a stage, and a bar to to make the space more comfortable, inclusive, and fun. These additions will maximize seating to meet the needs of both Sodexo and Event Services, while also providing the Regis Community with a social gathering space.
The Belial Bar was a community gathering space for students
The additional entertainment will bring in students of all ages to socialize with one another during free time. The bar will only be available to those students and members of the Regis Community who are of legal drinking age, but will bring off campus students back to socialize, rather than hosting parties in the neighborhood or going to other local establishments.
PROPOSED PROGRAMMING:
- Open Mic Nights
- Weekly Band Performances
- Karaoke
- Club Nights (Percentage of sales are donated to sponsored club)
- Thursday Thrills
In a recent survey conducted by the Executive Cabinet 69% of the students agreed that a pub would be a positive addition to campus.
TIMELINE:
The space is scheduled for completion for the 2010 Spring Semester
